Warrior's Prayer
Lord, please bless this,
My weapon of choice.
Oiled blade of shining steel,
Hilt winged and adorned
With likeness of bird and unicorn,
Grip of black, fit to my hand,
Rounded pommel, marked with a cross.
Lady, please bless me,
Warrior of this world.
Annoint my brow
With scented oils,
That I may keep clear head
And maintain wits
When chaos is about me.
And Lord, also,
This armor stiff,
Of leather brown,
Enhanced with steel.
The violet dragon upon my breast,
The necklace from my love
About my neck.
And Lady,
This body,
That it not fail
In strength or purpose
Until the task is done.
May it stay whole,
And life blood within.
My sword is sharp,
Defense prepared.
We go to war.
We may not return
In the fashion
Which we left.
With thy blesings we go.
We will stand strong.
We will advance unafraid.
Our enemies will know death.
Their knowledge gained
By our hands,
By our hearts,
By our will.
We go to war.
Dragon riders, to me!
We go to war!
